Man finds dream orange cat waiting for him on back porch on his birthday, and after bringing the cat inside discovers that she came with a surprise gift of 4 tiny healthy and happy kittens, cat mom says: ‘She is absolutely in love with my husband.’

Proof that sometimes the Cat Distribution System really does play favorites.

It is something that had never occurred to us in the past, but considering how incredible this story of street cat adoption is, we find it hard to not believe that the Cat Distribution System plays favorites. For not only did this hooman come home to find a strange cat waiting to be adopted by him on his back porch when he got home from work. But this cat was the exact kind of cat our soon to be cat dad had been wanting, as well as it being his birthday.

Such a confluence of events has hardly ever happened in a CDS rescue, but apparently when the CDS particularly likes you as a cat pawrent they will pull out all the stops. Heck, this cat even turned out to be completely healthy, something that is almost unheard of in the rescue cat community. So it might be time for all of us to think about what we can be doing in order to get in the good books of the CDS.

  • Honestly, what in the wonder of the Cat Distribution System is this occurrence? First of all just the idea of coming home and finding a cat literally waiting for you is nuts. We would lose our minds if we came home after a long day of work to find the cat who is going to fill our souls just sitting on our doorstep waiting for us. But then you add to that the fact that it was this man’s birthday and this is literally the kind of cat he wanted and you have a situation that could only ever be countered up by the Cat Distribution System.

  • Aside from it being so wonderfully classic for a cat to very definitively choose their hooman and borderline ignore the backup home, this is quite the wonderful series of events. Rarely is it the case that a rescue goes so smoothly. Heck, at this point it is kinda hard to even call this story a rescue story considering the cat in question pretty much begged to be given a home. But that is what happens when the Cat Distribution System smiles down upon someone and bestows upon them the greatest gift to mankind. If only we could all be as lucky as this fur family.
